Hours and hours of research around the theme as you gather the relevant data, then you start the grind of what all should go in your talk and what should be left out. Finally you start writing your script so that you don’t exceed the time limit or use too little of the allocated time. When you start reading what you write down, you realise some words need to be changed, a line needs to go off, and another one needs to come in and that’s when painstakingly- your talk starts to come together in your head, heart and paper.
You read and re-read it to yourself to see if it has the potential to excite the gathered audience – edit it further and the process ends once you have a reasonable satisfaction (one can’t ever be completely satisfied, I feel) of letting your audience take a little peek into the world that you want to take them into- through the words that you weave together for your talk.
And of course you credit the sources of information that have helped you put it all together.
#TedxPortblair for me, once again has been a beautiful experience of bringing my thoughts to life. And generally, when I talk, it centers mostly around stories.. so here too, I bring to you through my #TEDxPortblair talk, my understanding and research on #Stories about #StorytellingCulture in different parts of #India. You can go through the link to listen to the complete talk:
